This Is Family Business
Yesterday I fulfilled some brotherly civic duties by going to vote. For those of you who don’t know, early voting for the Texas primary started yesterday. Though I try and vote regularly to support the democratic process, yesterday was a little different. This time around my brother was on the ballot. He quit his job in D.C. and decided his time would be better spent in local politics....

These Boots Were Made For Walking
…on the moon.
For being such an iconic and internationally renowned company, locals don’t seem to know much about Rocketbuster Boots. Tucked away at the edge of the Union Plaza (an area mostly known for nightlife and upscale restaurants), Rocketbuster designs, manufactures, and displays their hand-made creations in an old 1900’s warehouse.
I’ve known about this place...

Stay Proper, My Friends
The other day I got a chance to swing by The Proper Printshop. It’s a fairly new screen printing crew that’s making a huge splash locally.
Mark is one of the owners who some people might recognize from Knuckle skate shop.
Another familiar face is this guy…
Stephen is the guitarist from The DA who is frequented on this blog. (visit stardom.tv if you haven’t see...

Werc-ing
So for the past few weeks I’ve been helping out my good friend Werc on his newest project. The Paso PortAll project is a collective effort to inspire the community. Primarily it’s a 90ft mural that Werc has been creating day in and day out.
Gera, an amazing artist in her own respect, has been around helping out with the project.
There have been plenty of delays because of...
Mimosas and Jazz
Jazzy was in town and we got to have some brunch. It had been a while since we had last caught up and I’m glad we finally got some time. She’s in LA working over at PostHaste Sound. Apparently Morgan Freeman was scheduled this week which made me more excited then her recounts with Ziggy.
Peter Needs Your Help
This is my buddy Peter.
And if you’re following along… he needs your help.
He’s been spearheading a campaign to try and bring a trolley street car back to the downtown area of El Paso. It’s a pretty feasible idea and could really help revitalize the heart of the city. I’m always up to support people holding on to what they believe in and riding it until the end....
Have you ever been to La Parada in El Paso? We’ll I’ve been working on a mini-doc for the new network, but some of my footage was used in this spot for the local news.

Coffee Creative
Do you like coffee? Well even if you’re like me and don’t care too much for a cup of Joe, you might still be interested in Coffee Creative. They’re the team who helped me put together my Noun book. Today they’re asking people to submit a picture relating to coffee for a chance to win a $50 Starbuck’s card. I snapped these of my roommate’s morning coffee today,...
It's Feb. 28th!
And now The D.A.’s album is available nationwide!
It’s no secret that I love these guys and I shared their video for “Pastels” that I worked on last year… but, today is the day they’ve been waiting for. “You Kids” their new debut album is now available for all of you to download. It’s on Spotify and iTunes! click either one for the album.

Bobby's World
I finally have an intern helping me out and I’m glad to have such a good one. She’s sarcastic and highly emotional but she also has a great eye behind the camera. Once the new and improved On Our Way To Stardom® is launched, you’ll be able to follow her work for the brand.
Tom's
If you’re in El Paso, I recommend stopping by Tom’s Cafe on Boston.
I was first introduced to Tom’s a few months ago by my buddy Zeque Peña who was hired to do the graphic design work for the place.
you might recognize Zeque from all his work with Maintain and the art he’s done around town for years. He was featured on my first episode of The Launch last year and now...

Tia Bertha
Last month I was in Florida because of this woman. My aunt Bertha lost her battle with cancer after a two year fight. Even though she was not part of my daily life, I didn’t realize how much of an influence my grandmother’s sister had on me until she passed. It was mostly due to loving relationship with my uncle Lalo.
I’m going to keep the details for myself, but these two...
Xushitl with Xochitl
which should read “sushi with sochie”
I miss this girl. She’s in LA right now going to OTIS and luckily we got to hangout last time we were in town.
She’s a great artist and puts her funky characters on tshirts for her line XOBU!
Timburrr
It’s been cold outside lately, but things are heating up online. This is Tim. He’s a really talented artist and web developer who is going to be revamping On Our Way To Stardom sites and help launch two new endeavors with me. You’ll hear more about it in the weeks to come but until then, visit his site.

Doomthe Future.
Recently I spent some time with friends making their mark on an abandoned building in downtown El Paso. Between Adam of Ltl. Monster, Peter of the Transnational Trolley Project, and Alex of Fusion Magazine, it’s no wonder the project was such a success. I’ve been asked to help out with a mini-doc of the event so this probably won’t be the last you see of this...
It's my ------- in a box.
If you guessed L-I-F-E, you’re right.
I’m in the process of moving and there’s something humbling (and frustrating) about putting all the pieces of you inside some cardboard. It’s a feeling I’ve had often in recent years, but this move feels different. I haven’t been able to post in a while and it’s fitting this post follows that last “idea”...

Have you ever had one of those “holy shit!” ideas where your heart races just thinking of the possibilities? Where the stars align for just a split second in your train of thought and you’d give anything to just not be human for a while; so sleep, hunger and other trivialities could be avoided. Not indefinitely, just long enough for you to bask in the warmth that radiates while...
